Update

My apologies for a less than active blog here of late. I'll be removing some of the weight shortly by aggregating a lot of the feeds at left to make a simpler interface and moving others into the annex. I'll then take the final step of upgrading to Blogger's new template system - hoping I don't lose too much on the way.

I am now using Twitter more heavily, so my current comments are in a box here. If you aren't twittering yourself yet, sign up - it is a fast and effective way of communicationing and posting at the the same. I've also spent much of the last week in Second Life - mostly to get fully used to its interface. Consensus is that within the next decade we will all be using 3D worlds for online navigation with the standard html browser becoming a secondary launch feature. Although I've been most distracted by the fun to be had there, my explorations have been primarily concerned with how to integrate my own presence there with the current network.

Sorting such stuff is my traditional focus, so I've not been commenting on current affairs so much except in Bloglines. I also send out a daily newsletter with hot links courtesy of "Furl" - email me if you want to be added to the list. The latest entries are continually updated in the box you'll find further down the page - about two posts ago.

However it pans out, Britain will be under a new political leadership soon and whether we recover or perpetrate the mess Blair has created remains to be seen. Equally, in the US, the Bush Regime continues its rampage in the face of a changed political climate. Even the media, its propaganda machine, seem to be coming out of denial about the real world. On both sides of the atlantic there is cause for hope, but also great uncertainty! Somehow, in the confusion, I feel less inspired to procrastinate of late too.

Fresh from the newswires and very bad news for today's young generation. The opt-out clause for dissenting teenagers has been revoked and any attempt to cancel your subscription to droidville and all subsequent state slavery will result in your incarcaration.

I dropped out of the state system back at age 17 and have absolutely no regrets. I learned and educated myself with real world experience and at my own time with contemporary culture, not institutionalised conformity, as my mentor. Another dark cloud over the Blair Regime's idea of "legacy".

Well, here I am am again with a short but proper post. There should have been some copy below the anti-war protest pictues but it went missing and earlier this week Google blocked me from accessing this blog because they thought it was being spammed or something. I logged in and they told me to wait a couple of days whilst a "human" check was made - they actually then cleared it within hours so no real complaints there. There's a list of the latest clicks.



Something I noticed yesterday was an announcement by the Blair Regime about the privatisation of the employment service. Then today it was announced that unemployed jobseekers will be given a government-approved haircut and "help" with purchasing a "suit" for interview purposes. To quote: "There will be an element of compulsion in this scheme"! With the government slowly collapsing, one wonders why they stil remain so obsessed with this totalitarian bullshit. It's not even of any real benefit - dress codes and haircuts mean very little in today's work environments.

I just uploaded this to thd VodPod (links left) but felt compelled to put it here too. It's highly distressing so be warned. To ram the point home it opens as a feature supposedly on vegetarian sex foods, but soon turns into a nightmareish documentary on what the carnivores of this world do to feed their lust for meat. Is it any wonder we are seeing political figures emerge whose mindset seems to be transposing this kind of "industry" into managing the affairs of other humans aswell?

Down To Earth

Well, biz-god Richard Branson and eco-god (and hopefully US president-to-be) Al Gore descended on Kensington this morning amid much fanfare. They were here to annouce a competition whereby someone will get loads of loot if they can come up with a comprehensive idea for tackling climate change. Presumably it has be be workable and politically agreeable, so with so many ideas and opinions already on the table that could be a tall task indeed.

Must put the thinking cap on!
